At CIMA (Atlantic Center for Environmental Research, S.L.), we want to show you what we do—both in our offices and beyond.

On this page, you’ll find a series of short videos called "Things We Do at CIMA", which will help explain what we do and how we do it. All to bring you closer to the world of Marine Biology and Oceanography.

– «Things We Do At CIMA» #9: New Team Member:

We have a new addition to the CIMA team!

Do you want to know "who" it is?

It’s “Wall·e”, our new “companion-ROV” (Remote Operated Vehicle, Vehículo operado a distancia). “Wall·e” is a Seadrone Inspector, a ROV with its own lighting, a fullHD camera, and the ability to dive up to 100 meters deep.

This new addition is assisting us in various projects. For example, in those requiring underwater imaging in areas where diving is more challenging.

Though we’re still getting used to working together, it has already proven its work quality is impeccable (as long as we’re good guides for it).

What other types of projects can “Wall·e” help us with?

So far, we know it will facilitate our work in projects involving mapping of communities, inspections or reviews of submerged and floating structures, work within docks or areas where diving is restricted or dangerous, identification of structures detected with our side-scan sonar, etc.
