Servicio de pesca y agricultura

We conduct preoperational studies and Environmental Monitoring of fishing projects and aquaculture concessions to determine the environmental impact on biological communities (fish populations, sandy-bottom fauna, marine phanerogams, etc.).

Some of these studies focus on analyzing different fishing gear predominantly used by artisanal fishermen in the islands. The data obtained allows us to propose changes, good practices in their use, etc., with the goal of increasing their sustainability.

These studies are continuously and periodically evaluated by Competent Authorities and constitute an indispensable tool for carrying out these activities sustainably in the coastal marine environment.

We participate in various R&D&I projects aimed at strengthening the resilience of fishermen and aquaculture companies, promoting research into new resources, processes, and health/environmental controls that drive significant advancements in these sectors.
